Learning from Mistakes

Let’s rewind to 2016 when my passion for creativity took the wheel.

Without a solid plan, I boldly left my 10-year job as a department manager in a hospital. It was a leap of faith, but I knew deep down that I had to follow my creative calling.

As I began my design journey, I faced the challenge of earning a living from my creativity. With no experience and a lack of portfolio, it’s tough to find clients.

But then an opportunity came. I became an operations manager. I oversaw marketing and branding for a startup company. I poured my energy into making visual identities. I also built the company’s website. But, despite my efforts, the company faced difficulties. It could not sustain the business.

Not one to give up, I joined a startup diagnostic laboratory as the marketing manager. Once again, I channeled my creative energy into developing the visual identity. However, the company tried their best. But, we’ve faced similar challenges and met the same fate.

It left me wondering what I’ve been missing with both companies. I made connections between my own journey and the struggles faced by the companies I worked for. I’d quit a 10-year job without a plan. These connections led to a realization.

We’ve never had a clear brand strategy.

Even the most visually appealing branding can falter without a solid strategy. An effective brand strategy is pivotal. It ensures success and longevity.

I worked closely with the agency’s founder and creative director. I gained valuable insights. I honed my skills in crafting brand strategies and captivating identities. The agency became my training ground. It shaped me into a skilled branding specialist.
